Shavohk Dress

Admittedly this isn't nearly as cleaned up or intricately drawn as I would have done normally. I redrew a concept I had drawn only days earlier when I was in Microbiology class. This is YET ANOTHER VULCAN OUTFIT!!!!

I am in the process of ordering the pieces needed for the collar from the manufacturer in China.

This outfit is the one T' Par (my Vulcan character) was wearing to a council meeting in her village on Vulcan.

Further info on T' Par: She is from a small tribal village in Gol. She is in one of the three "ruling" families in a matriarchal society and is next in line (after her mother) for a position on the council in her village. Hence the dressiness of the outfit.

When her husband goes to meet her for a second meeting at 14 (after the disastrous first meeting when they were both 7 which consisted of trading insults and T' Par kicking her not-so-hopeful-husband-to-be in the shin), Torva (that's his name) sees her, and is smitten. (Oh, those teen aged hormones, even a Vulcan cannot escape!)

When seeing her in this outfit and because of the piercing "Back for more?" look she gives him, he nick names her Shavohk which is a Vulcan bird of prey that is rare, but when sighted it's considered a very fortunate sign.

Rest assured the second meeting went better than the first and they found they had both matured considerably (as much as a Vulcan 14 year old is expected to anyway) and mutually assured their respective families that a match between them both was wise.
Yup, she has a story.

Ok, enough back story! On to the outfit!

I was researching Lady Gaga's costumes and stumbled upon a reference to a designer she used recently in her "Bad Romance" video (DAMN YOU FRENCHIE!!!! I"M ADDICTED TO THAT SONG!!!): Alexander McQueen.

I went to his sight and watched his Plato's Atlantis fashion show. The clothes were pretty hideous, but a high beaded collar on one of the better looking creations caught my eye. After seeing it, this idea for a costume popped into my head.
The collar is going to be completely covered in diamond shaped rust colored "gems" and be kind of a flexible corset collar. The robe as a simple lattice like embroidery suspended between maroon piping on the sleeves and hems.
